JESSE PANTHAGANI
Course Organiser
Jesse is currently a senior Ophthalmology registrar and a Clinical Lecturer in the Academic Unit of Ophthalmology, University of Birmingham and is on the steering committee of the West Midlands Deanery Ophthalmology Trainee Research Network. Jesse is currently undertaking a MD project and a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education with the University of Birmingham. Jesse graduated from University College London in 2013 with an intercalated degree in Physiology. He has demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm for teaching which started during time in medical school and has continued on in higher training. Jesse was accepted on the Ophthalmology training programme on his first attempt and has successfully coached multiple candidates for post graduate speciality applications. Jesse is currently a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and a Member of The Royal College of Surgeons.
GEORGE MOUSSA
Course Organiser
George is approaching the end of the registrar training. He graduated from the University of Birmingham and during his foundation and specialist training has acquired a taste for research and consider it to be an essential component of doctors’ day to day work. George ranked top 5% in his ST1 Ophthalmology application on his first attempt. He has currently taken lead of the ophthalmology for the trainee research network. He has won an NIHR research grant which is funding a project for the network. He has been voted by consultants in the region for the best trainee research award.
George is actively involved with teaching medical students and has lectured at the University of Birmingham to the Ophthalmology Surgical Society. He continues to annually teach many successful applicants for post graduate training.
